Family, Cricket and Community Spirit
Selby Cricket Club are celebrating the generous support of two local businesses with deep family ties to the club, in a partnership that highlights the best of community spirit and grassroots sport.
Rosebud Enterprises Ltd and Bar Paradise, both run by husband and wife team Joe and Fiona Rodgers, have come on board as match shirt sponsors for the 2025 season. But this is far more than a logo on a sleeve – it's a story rooted in Selby tradition.
Fiona’s brother, Alex Bowden, came through Selby’s junior ranks and now captains the 1st XI at just at just 28 years old. Their father, Mally Bowden, is a familiar face at the club – a former player and current groundsman who even came out of retirement last week to help steer the fourth team to a vital win.
Club Chair Gareth Pearce said, “This sponsorship really means something. Joe and Fiona’s support is a brilliant example of local businesses giving back to the community – and in this case, it’s a family that’s lived and breathed Selby CC for years. It’s thanks to people like them that clubs like ours continue to thrive”
Rosebud Enterprises and Bar Paradise are both known for their commitment to the Selby community - from home improvements to hospitality – and their backing of Selby CC shows their investment goes well beyond business.
