Heslington I 144, Selby I 146-2
Selby first team continue to climb the table after a comfortable eight wicket win at Heslington I.

The York side won the toss and elected to bat first but they struggled to get going against the tight bowling of Jamie Middleton and Luke Berzins. The first wicket fell with the score on 14 when Middleton had Harry Baldwin stumped by Darrell Guy and Middleton struck again to have Stonage caught by Matt Hoyle to leave the home side on 37-2. Middleton was yet again deadly accurate and finished with 2-13 from his 12 overs. Will Phelps and Graham Sherlock then staged a recovery with a fourth wicket partnership of 51 which was ended by the spin of Alex Langhan who had Sherlock caught behind for 36. Lee Wild (3-49) then had Phelps (34) neatly stumped by Guy as Selby took control of the game and wickets began to tumble. Langhan was again in great form and he took 5-29 as Heslington were bowled out for 144 in the 41st over with Luke Berzins taking three catches in the outfield.

In reply Selby were soon scoring quickly with openers Matt Hoyle and Lee Wild both batting powerfully from the start and the fifty partnership was reached in only the eighth over. A first wicket partnership of 73 was ended by Harry Baldwin when he bowled Hoyle for a stylish 53, which included 9 fours and Baldwin quickly struck again to leave the visitors on 89-2. Wild continued to bat impressively and he fired 11 fours and a six in his unbeaten 58 and there was good support from Mark Hope (24 n.o.) as Selby reached the victory target in only the 24th over.
