Selby first team bounced back from last weeks disappointing defeat to Hemingbrough with an impressive nine wicket win at Stamford Bridge II.
Skipper Matt Hoyle won the toss and asked Stamford Bridge to bat first and they were soon reduced to 19-2 with Luke Berzins and James Dugher taking the early wickets. Opener Martyn Woodliffe (19) worked hard but Berzins (2-26) had him caught to reduce the home side to 31-3. Alex Langhan and Lee Wild joined the attack and they kept up the pressure with some great bowling as they worked their way through the rest of the home sides batting. Rob Hewitt (18) provided some resistance but Langhan (4-15) and Wild (3-10) along with some excellent fielding and catching saw Stamford Bridge bowled out for 76 in the 35th over.

Chasing the small total the visitors made a good start with openers Matt Hoyle and Oliver Steward putting on 39 for the first wicket before Woodliffe trapped Steward leg before. Lee Wild joined Hoyle and there were no further problems for Selby with Hoyle in superb form as he raced to an unbeaten 53. Wild finished unbeaten on 10 as the visitors knocked off the runs in the 23rd over. The win lifts Selby above Stamford Bridge into second place and they travel to Woodhouse Grange III on Saturday.
