Batting first after winning the toss the home side suffered a major set back in the first over when Simon Strafford had the in form Graham Phillips caught behind by Pete Boothroyd. Spinner Strafford then had Oliver Steward caught behind and when Tom Delmont bowled Mike Lane Selby were reduced to 29-3. Young batsman Harry Huddlestone and Chris Harkin staged a recovery and they added 32 for the fourth wicket before Jake Bloomer (4-13) returned to the attack to dismiss Harkin for 22. Huddlestone (22) again batted solidly but after he became another victim for Bloomer the Selby innings quickly subsided with Will Dobson taking 3-16 and the home side were bowled out for 79 in the 33rd over.

In reply the visitors lost an early wicket when Nathan Dye had Steve Dobson caught by Phillips but Mark Kelly and George Boothroyd looked to have secured a comfortable win for Ledsham as they put on 44 for the second wicket. Selby fought back when Mark Redshaw caught and bowled Kelly (16) and when Phillips (2-22) had George Boothroyd (31) caught behind suddenly it became a contest. Redshaw (4-21) ripped through the middle order to set up a tense finish and it was left to the experienced Pete Boothroyd to hit the winning run in the 25th over. Selby make the short trip to Burn I on Saturday.
